British pop star Dougie Poynter has promised to meet one lucky fan who adopts a gorilla as part of a new wildlife initiative in a bid to boost the campaign.

The McFly bassist signed up as an ambassadorfor the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in (October 12th) to promote its Mountain Gorilla Adoption Project.

The musician travelled to Africa to see how the organisation helps animals – and he was left stunned by the danger some gorillas face in their natural habitat in the border areas of Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In a video message on the organisation’s site, he says, “Mountain gorillas are critically endangered, there are only around 780 left in the wild. The two areas where they still survive are densely populated, due to people coming to the area to escape from the region’s civil unrest."

“Much of the wood is taken from forests where the gorillas live which is leading to massive degradation of their forest home. Gorillas can also catch diseases from people entering the forest… they don’t have the immune system to fight them, so even a cold can kill a gorilla. The apes also often get caught in snares, set to catch other animals. They are incredibly fragile.”

Poynter goes on to encourage animal-lovers to donate cash to sponsor a gorilla – and he’s pledged to personally meet one lucky fan who signs up for the scheme.

In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, “Meet me and my band mates on tour, I will make it happen and pick a winner if you just adopt one of my gorilla pals.”

McFly visited the Estree Studio of Big Brother’s Bit On The Side and they don’t go noticed…..

Busy reporting on what was going on in the Big Brother House for spin-off Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, like an excited puppy in a pet shop, Rylan spotted McFly through the one sided windows, the cover was blown!

Rylan decided to be a bit naughty and try to peep at the who’s in the camera runs.

My friend @McFlyGDIsrael sent me a translation of what an Israel magazine said about 'Memory Lane: The Best Of McFly'. Not sure of the name of the magazine, but I'm posting this to see what your opinions are on what they said.

"Memory Lane: The Best Of McFly way too long.

McFly released a 'best of' album, but it's way too long.

A couple of years ago, right before One Direction and The Wanted took over the radio stations and fans hearts all over the world, there was another boyband, as popular; we obviously mean McFly, they maybe have never been as meteorically successful as their British friends, but as the ones who wrote for Harry Styles and his friends and not yet reached the age of 'come-back' - the British foursome in the lead of Tom Fletcher can afford himself releasing a 'best of' album.

Memory Lane (The Best Of McFly) is an overloaded album. And the reason to its release is unknown. We mean, if McFly wanted to get back in business - a think we're totally up for! By the way - why release a collection album? Why not release a new one? The collection, at it's regular version has 22 (!) songs, and it's deluxe version had - hold tight! - no less than 42 hits! Past demos, live tracts and b-sides.

Suppose, it's a real celebration for the fans, as you'll find the band's greatest hits one after another, organised most of the time by the order the songs got taken out of the albums by (it's too bad the songs from their last album 'Above The Noise' are opening the album, when even the band mates said it was a complete flop).
As they stick to tradition we have four new songs in this collection, and they surprised us in a good way. The new single 'Love Is Easy' opens the album and it's a typical McFly song. Light punk-pop, a nice flirt with guitars and a catchy "do do do" chores - no doubt the right choice for this kind of album. The same warm feeling McFly are giving with their music for the past eight years, that we could get from the whole album, that defiantly exhausts the band's abilities and gives you a good introduction to them. But for god sakes - 42 songs are a lot, even for the ones who love the band.

Bottom row: a bit less songs and we would've been happy.

Dougie, Danny and Tom will be on Big Brother’s Bit on the Side tonight at 23:30PM UK Time, so make sure to tune in Channel 5 to see the boys.

Tom tweeted: "Danny, Dougie-Lee and myself will be on Big Brother’s Bit On The Side tonight singing some songs and stuff. Watch!"

TOWIE’s Mario Falcone went all out for his New Year celebrations by sharing a kiss with two of the McFly boys!

Mario, 24, marked the beginning of 2013 at a silent disco party held by his sister Giovanna and her husband, McFly vocalist and guitarist, Tom Fletcher.
Mario, who attended the party with girlfriend Lucy Mecklenburgh, and best mate Little Chris, posted photos to Instagram of him playfully kissing McFly band members Dougie Poynter and Danny Jones.

Mario kissed Dougie on the cheek first, but as if that wasn’t enough he went on to grab Danny for a smooch too – Lucy better watch out!
He wrote with the photo: “Kissing Danny too… We got carried away!”

Mario certainly began to feel the effects from partying so hard as he tweeted during the party, “I have split my head open!!!!”

But later added: “My glands are up and my throat is extremely sore…. Man flu has struck!!”

Lucy, 21, enjoyed herself too and took to Twitter the following day to say how much fun she had. She said: “Had such a good NYE! … Now im not moving off the Sofa all day!”

It seems like they kicked off the New Year in good spirits then!
