Unsaid Things : Our Story is officially a bestseller! This is an incredible achievement and we hope that you're all enjoying reading the story of Mcfly as told by the boys themselves.

The book will feature in The Sunday Times Top Ten this weekend so be sure to check it out.

It’s usually band mate Harry Judd on the drums but the jungle beat over mountain gorillas is being banged by McFly bassist and King of the Jungle Dougie Poynter.

After an incredible trek to see wild gorillas with WWF, Dougie has helped launch a mountain gorilla adoption to protect the last two remaining populations of this species.

“Threatened by loss of habitat, poachers’ snares and risk of disease, the critically endangered mountain gorilla is found in the border areas of Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Dougie’s trip saw him visit two different mountain gorilla groups, firstly in Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda and secondly in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda.” WWF say.

IGCP is a joint initiative of the African Wildlife Foundation, Fauna and Flora International, and WWF. IGCP’s mission is to empower the people of Rwanda, DRC and Uganda to jointly manage a network of trans-boundary protected areas that the mountain gorillas depend on. Together IGCP and WWF have supported projects such as environmental awareness and education initiatives, promotion of sustainable livelihoods and reforestation projects.

“Dougie said, “Coming to Africa to see gorillas in their natural habitat has just been incredible, an experience I’ll never forget. I’ve learnt so much about the conservation efforts to protect the gorillas, their habitats and the local communities who live alongside them.

“One thing that stands out from my visit is just how big and powerful these amazing creatures are – but at the same time just how fragile they are. Not everyone’s lucky enough to see wild gorillas first hand, but by adopting one with WWF you can do your bit to help protect them.”

The gorillas’ home is right in the middle of a densely populated area with high levels of poverty and conflict. This means that there are many complex challenges facing mountain gorillas. More than a million people live and depend on the forests near to where the animals live. Unfortunately, the need for land in order to grow food has greatly reduced the gorillas’ forest habitat. Poaching and capture for the illegal wildlife trade adds further pressure. WWF is part of a coalition called The International Gorilla Conservation Programme (IGCP) that works with local communities to help protect the mountain gorilla.

Money raised from WWF’s mountain gorilla adoption will help fund training and equipment for anti-poaching teams, as well as supporting work being done to reduce the difficulties that can arise when gorillas and people live close by.

The latest addition to the adoption range is available from www.wwf.org.uk/adoptagorilla for as little as £3 per month.

The boy band look suave (hot, we mean hot) in the artwork for their new single

McFly have released the cover for their new single ‘Love Is Easy’ – and don’t they look hot?

Other points to note:

1. There is maths on it

2. We don’t mind that because LOOK AT HARRY’S FACE

The boys are gearing up to release a greatest hits collection (which we’re too excited about, unlike the boys in our office who know that they won’t get to listen to anything else for a month) but Tom , Dougie , Danny and Harry are also treating us to three brand spanking new tracks, too.

Memory Lane: The Best of McFly will include ‘Love Is Easy,’ along with newbie songs ‘Do Watcha’ and ‘Cherry Cola.’

We’ll also be shaking our highlights to classic hits ‘Five Colours in Her Hair’ and singing (badly – but maybe not as badly as X Factor’s Rylan… ok it could be as badly) to ‘Shine a Light’ and ‘Transylvania’.

It’s hard to believe the McFly boys have already achieved seven number ones, 10 Top 10 singles and have released five albums.

‘Love Is Easy’ will be available to download from November 18th and Memory Lane: The Best of McFly follows on November 26th.

Keep those hits coming boys. And if you want to take your tops off too, feel free.

Entertainmentwise sits down with McFly…

McFly first rocked onto the music scene almost 10 years ago, with their chart topping debut Room On The Third Floor. Since then they’ve toured the world, recorded several more albums and even found the ‘loves of their lives’.

With bands like One Direction currently ruling the charts and the ladies hearts how have they survived and what advice could they give the new wave of boy bands?

Entertainmentwise got the pleasure of interviewing the boys who are promoting new book Unsaid Things.

The guys confess to doing “all the things you think boys in bands do” but can’t admit to; the good and the bad, as well as the downright rude (although you may have to read that sneakily on the bus; blushes all round).

From their days on the road, the ladies in their life to McFly’s adoring fans…we’ve got it all.

Dougie Poynter Becomes Wildlife Ambassador

MCFLY star Dougie Poynter has become an ambassador for the World Wide Fund for Nature (Wwf) to back a new campaign to save African mountain gorillas.

The British pop star recently flew to Africa to record a film for the organisation in a bid to raise awareness of the dangers facing the species, which has been threatened with extinction due to poachers, disease, and loss of habitat.

Poynter is supporting a new drive to encourage nature-lovers to ‘adopt’ a gorilla to raise funds to protect them.

In the footage, posted on YouTube.com, the star is seen trekking through the jungle and observing the creatures in the wild.
He says, “It’s been incredible… it’s been one of those things that I will never ever forget… The biggest thing that I’ve learnt is that although these creatures are massive and so powerful, they are just incredibly fragile. Adopting a gorilla with Wwf is the best way to protect them and to secure their future.”

A statement from Wwf reads, “Dougie is supporting the launch of a new Wwf mountain gorilla adoption which will help raise funds to protect the last two remaining populations of the species. As part of the International Gorilla Conservation Programme (Igcp) Wwf is working to protect the gorillas, their habitats and the local communities who live alongside them.”
